Nick D’Alessandro (b. 2000, Massachusetts, based in Chicago) founded the wearable project wwwyred in 2023. He has worked on collaborative costume projects for artists including Kendrick Lamar, FKA Twigs, and Remi Wolf. His garments have been exhibited in Paris at Est Galerie (2026), Chicago at Regards (2024), and in New York at the 108 Main (2026), GBA Gallery (2023), and Gern en Regalia (2023).
Each piece is treated not as a finished garment but as cloth already lived-in. Garments are cut from durable vintage surplus cloth, then pressed and stained until the fabric carries the residue of a life before it existed. Each piece arrives pre-worn and deeply hued, presenting the work unfinished, with the hope that the wearer keeps staining, dirtying, and wearing the pieces into ruin. Nothing here settles.
